Weka Mufti and Movie Day

Students in the Weka Team were awarded 500 tokens and so we could choose a team prize.  After some discussion, the team as a whole voted for a Movie'n'Mufti Day.

In Room 18, we had two Minnie Mouses, two Marios and one Mighty Mouse, as well as everyone in Mufti.  Ruby even brought a Minnie Mouse sandwich!

It was a beautifully sunny day for Mufti.

After lunch, we had our movie, a cartoon version of the BFG, which is the chapter book we are reading in class.

Sophie and the BFG, the main characters in the story.

We closed the blinds and set out the chairs just like a movie theatre with rows of chairs in the middle and tall stools at the back.  Some people sat on cushions in  Gold Class at the front.

Wilson and Lucas made the popcorn before school so we could have movie snacks.  We found it was easy to count the cups of popcorn if we arranged them in rows of six.  There were 4 rows of 6 which was 24 (as Abbey and LJ were away).

Before lunch, everyone made themselves a movie ticket - only people with tickets were allowed to enter the Room 18 movie theatre.  People were able to put their seat allocation on their ticket so everyone knew where to sit before the movie started.
