Class councillors

In Year 3 - 6 classes, there are two councillors who represent every class at Class Councillor meetings, taking our ideas to meetings and briefing us afterwards.  It was time to choose two students who could do this task well.  We talked about the sorts of qualities we wanted to see in our class councillors: people who were kind, friendly, helpful, able to do the right thing and encourage others to do the same.

Everyone wrote a Class Councillor speech and then decided if they wanted to present their speech to the class; this way they could nominate themselves.  After everyone had heard all the speeches, they voted for the two people they thought would do the best job.  Everyone had a secret vote.  Mrs Bear took the voting box and counted the votes with Mrs Bigwood in her office.  The people with the most votes were elected:  Adam is Class Councillor and Charlotte is Deputy Class Councillor. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

We were able to have an intermission between speeches.

Luckily, it was Popcorn Friday so we had popcorn to munch at half time.

Congratulations to all nominees who have their speeches to the class.
