Last Monday, we had the last swim of the Summer. The next time we swim at school will be at the end of Term 4! Swimming was about retrieving things in the water: we dived for rings on the bottom of the pool and scooped up plastic balls as they popped about on the surface.
Once we were dry and warm, we went for a class picnic by the Oak Walk. We took our lunch boxes but we also sampled the butter and cheese we had made on crunchy slices of french bread. In the morning, we had picked chives from our class garden and chopped them into little pieces to mix in our cheese. This added a sharp peppery flavour.
